This video shows the 2007 Northern and 2007/2008 Southern PMC seasons. The seasons are lined up such that each image shows the data from the corresponding days of the season, so for instance June 21 and December 21 are shown together. This clearly shows the differences between the seasons. The southern season started much later than the northern, and was much weaker in the first half of the season.

"Mysteries in the Mesosphere" lets you explore one of the highest frontiers on Earth!

Why are mysterious ice clouds forming miles above even the highest thunderstorms, at the very edge of space? Why are they getting brighter? Are these strange polar mesospheric clouds another indication of climate change?

You and your school can help the AIM team learn more about what is happening 50 miles above the Earth's surface. Join students from the William Smith High School and the University of Colorado, along with members of the AIM science team, as they explore these mysteries and search for answers!

Full resolution copies are available for classroom use.
Total time: 24:30.
