After nearly 2 years of preparation, the 3 million volt dust accelerator is finally here and assembled.

Starting at dawn, with the sun on the left horizon, this movie shows the potential structures on the lunar surface for the full day. The structures are the result a three-dimensional particle-in-cell model using the commercial code Vorpal©.

Using the Vorpal© models, charged dust dynamics within the lunar plasma environment were studied. This movie shows an example of the trajectory of a positively charged, submicron dust grain within the lunar plasma environment.
