AEROSPACE RESEARCH POLYMERICS TECHNICIAN (ARPT1009)

This position is a member of the production team in the Engineering Division of the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP). Join a team that develops instruments for use on NASA flight programs. This position is integral to the research program and will be an active participant in assuring that the scientific goals will be met.

DUTIES:

The Polymerics Technician works from process plans, drawings, photographs and verbal instructions to perform polymeric operations such as mixing, bonding, potting, conformal coating, encapsulation, cleaning, rework, and visual tests/inspections.

The Polymerics Technician will interface with the other assembly technicians, instrument makers, production manager, controlled stores technician and the engineers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Familiarity with electrical fabrication techniques and a technical degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

It is required that the successful applicant has experience working in an ESD controlled environment and NASA, or equivalent, polymeric/staking and conformal coating certification is preferred.

Must be able to read and understand written process plans.
