MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) has two Engineering positions open starting immediately.  Join a design team that develops instruments for use on NASA flight programs.  The candidates will be involved in the design and development of unique and innovative aerospace structures, mechanisms, and optical instrumentation for application in vacuum and space-flight environments.

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER:
Employee will design in SolidWorks and ANSYS, interface with multi-disciplinary engineers on project teams, create fabrication and process documentation, and be responsible for supporting fabrication, assembly, and testing of all designs.  A BS or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, plus 3 or more years of directly related experience and a working knowledge of mechanism design.  CAD design experience using a solid modeling program is required, preferably SolidWorks or Pro/E.  Working knowledge of finite element analysis software is desired.
