Research Associate (RA100509) (LASP PRA Position #692990, created Psoft 10/02/2009; jobsatcu posting #808460) The Colorado Center for Lunar Dust and Atmospheric Studies at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, University of Colorado, Boulder is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Position in space instrumentation to start in early 2010. The position is for a period of 1 year, with a possible extension for up to 3 years, depending on the availability of funding. The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree and is expected to support our existing research projects to develop dust instrumentation relevant for the lunar surface, and the study of the physics of hypervelocity dust impacts in preparation for applications for future planetary missions. The candidate is expected to be capable of independently conducting laboratory experiments, designing and building mechanical and electronics components, computer driven data acquisition systems, and have a good working knowledge of a programming language for the analysis of experimental data.
