Electrcal Engineering Student Support

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) is a world-renowned space science research institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Professional engineers work closely with scientists in designing and building space flight hardware and helping mentor students as entry level engineers working on these programs. An opening exists for EE students immediately. We are looking for electrical engineering students within a variety of EE disciplines and with various levels of experience. These engineers will be working on one or more NASA flight programs. Undergraduate Hourly Positions – up to 2 Electrical Engineering Interns
Responsible for supporting LASP Engineering Staff in the following activities: Support LASP professional electrical engineers in the development of FPGA and PLD embedded logic designs used to test flight assemblies, develop test code in C++ for use in testing flight assemblies, and develop and test electronic circuits for use in the implementation of test systems.
Minimum GPA - 3.3; Desired skills – Knowledge of the design of embedded logic using VHDL, design of analog circuits, circuit analysis using PSpice or equivalent, and / or general programming skills in C++. Student should also have laboratory experience and be proficient in the use of test equipment.
The ideal candidate is an undergraduate student who is at least 2 years away from graduation in electrical engineering and has an interest in embedded logic. However, we will consider any engineering student who is excited to participate in this engineering training experience. Work week includes a minimum 10hrs/wk commitment during the school year, full-time over the summers.
