This is an image of a phytoplankton. These little creatures are the lowest on the marine food chain. They can be found both in the Arctic and the Antarctic waters and are responsible for the abundant life in the polar waters. However, with further ozone depletion these little creatures will be harmed by the ultraviolet light and will not be able to continue photosynthesis. Without phytoplankton, everything in the ocean would lose their food source and everything up the massive killer and humpback whales will not be able to survive.
