The Arctic Circle

The Arctic Circle

The Arctic circle is outlined in yellow in this image and is the portion of the Earth above the 89th degree latitude. It consists mostly of the Arctic Ocean, which is mostly ice all year long. Unlike the Antarctic circle that is mainly the Antarctic continent, it is important to realize that the Arctic ocean covers most of the Arctic circle.
