A Workshop for Elementary Educators

Workshop Dates: June 14-17, 2016 

Location: LASP Space Sciences Building, 3665 Discovery Dr., Boulder, CO. 80303

Are your students obsessed with space?  Looking to expand your own knowledge, meet other educators, and have fun? This professional development for elementary educators is a great opportunity to get hands-on activities, blended science and literacy lessons, as well as increase content knowledge in a welcoming environment!

  • Mars and the MAVEN mission
  • Planetary comparisons (atmosphere, gravity, magnetism, geologic features)
  • How the Sun affects planets
  • How Mars has changed over time
  • Basics of planetary distances, motion, scale

What the program provides:

  • Free dorm housing
  • A $150 stipend
  • Continental breakfast and lunch
  • Certificate of completion (for recertification)

Travel expenses are not included. This is a competitive program with limited space. Applicants will be notified in April of selection. A $30 non-refundable deposit will be required at the time of selection (pays for t-shirt and field trips).
