Deployment from ISS delayed until early April
The deployment of MinXSS flight model 1 from the International Space Station (ISS) has been delayed from early March to early April. MinXSS has been on the ISS since early December. We’ve been performing a long duration battery test on the ground and are confident that we will deploy with a fully charged battery. The commissioning team has been practicing and improving our tools and procedures throughout the delays and will continue to do so now.
For ham radio operators, James Mason made significant progress in the modification of the relevant ground station client in December but ran into a wall. He will be using this delay to take another crack at it with help from University of Michigan (the original developers of the code) and additional MinXSS team members. We will do our best to have it ready and this website updated in time for deployment!
