There were several large solar storms on May 27-31, 2003 (day 147-151). These storms included large X-class flares, full halo CMEs, and proton storms. Shown in this figure is the measurements of the solar X-ray irradiance during this period with data from GOES, SEE, and SORCE shown. This will be an interesting period to study how Earth’s atmosphere responded to these major solar energy inputs, both in the form of UV radiation and highly energetic particles.
