File: TORUS1:[GLL_RAW.INFO]HOW_TO_START_GGGS.DOC June 4,1996 - Scott Lasica Essential steps to getting GGGS 2.6 running: GGGS uses many logicals to define files and directories, these logicals are defined in the file: diskk:[gwiz]gggs_logicals2_6.com The easiest way to use these logicals is to put the following line into your login.com $ @diskk:[gwiz]gggs_logicals2_6.com Now, all you need to do is type gggs at the prompt. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you encounter an error: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please add the following line to your login.com file: $ define/nolog ggs diskh:[simmons]ggs_people Please mail a description of what you were doing, along with the error message to @ggs (you can change the logical name if you don't like ggs) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things to remember/check: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Z-axis will use a lookup table by default for its pointing. It can be changed under the Tools menu. You can change the default settings under the Session menu. Here you can define colors, character size, and many other user and system defaults. A useful tool is the GGGS Status window which can be found under the Help menu. It shows you which kernels are loaded, and other state information about the current session. You can control the loading of the kernels by setting kernel loading to manual. There are settings for each type of kernel under their respective menus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- GGS development team: Scott Lasica lasica@pisces.colorado.edu Brian Pape pape@pisces.colorado.edu Deborah Miller miller@pisces.colorado.edu
