File: TORUS1:[GLL_RAW.INFO]HOW_TO_TRANSFER_OAPELS.DOC June 4, 1996 - Greg Rutz HOW TO RETRIEVE OAPEL FILES FROM JPL 1) Copy all of the necessary OAPLINK files to one of the PISCES cluster machines (glluvs, torus, etc..) -- The necessary files are ... *.CDX, *.DBF, *.FPT You can do this by simply getting the directory on GLLSVC where the OAPLINK files are stored and copying them over using the proper password. for example ... GLLSVC"KSIMMONS PASS"::GLLSVC$DATA1:[GLLMRO] GLLSVC::GLLSVC$DATA2:[GLLUVS.GEM.16]16UVS980601.CDX;1 Jun 5/98 OAPLINK files should be copied to: DISKK:[ORBIT_DESIGN..OAPELS] where is replaced by the appropriate orbit name. (J0,G1,G2,...etc.) 2) On the Macintosh Power PC in LSTB-250, go to the apple menu in the upper left hand corner and select "VersaTerm FTP client" 3) A dialog box will appear. Double click on one of the sessions called "untitled" or "glluvs". 4) Scroll down the menu that comes up until you find the name of a PISCES cluster machine(preferably one of the faster ones). Highlight the name of the machine then click OK. 5) Enter your user name and password. Now you are logged on to the VAX. 6) Click and hold in the box which contains the name of your root directory. Drag down to "Change Dir...". 7) Type in the name of the directory where the OAPLINK files are located. Press return. 8) Select the OAPLINK files to be copied to the Macintosh hard drive. You can multiple-select files by holding down the Shift Key. 9) If the box on the right hand side of the window says "Text/ASCII", change it to read "Binary". 10) Click on the "Receive" button 11) Choose the location on the Macintosh hard drive to save the files. (Probably MacG05/Applications/OAPLINK/) Now click the "Save" button. 12) After the files have been transferred to the Mac, you need to rename them. Quit VersaTerm and open up the folder that the OAPLINK files are saved in. Remove the VMS version number from all of the OAPLINK filenames. 13) The files are now ready to be opened in OAPLINK.
