Refer to the Galileo UVS/EUV instrument paper 'Galileo Ultraviolet Spectrometer Experiment', Vol 60, Space Science Reviews, pages 503-530, by C.W. Hord et al, for hardware and calibration information. The associated data file is: The data in the associated file were obtained by the UVS instrument during the Jupiter Orbit Operations mission phase. The geometry data in the referenced file was created with the UVS observation visualization program called GGGS (Galileo Geometry and Graphics Software). The menu item 'Create LOS Bundle' calculates the percentage fill of the slected instrument FOV and then creates a table including geometry values for the UVS instrument boresight. The UVS F and G/N-channel field-of-view (FOV) boresights are coincident. The Time of the first value in the geometry table corresponds to first time within the summation (FLUSH) period when the FOV begins to observe the body, as the spacecraft drifts the FOV over it. Subsequent entries in the geometry table are at one half RIM intervals until the body leaves the FOV. The label time values are extracted from the data file label and may represent more time than the geometry table actually contains. (%FOV values are calculated for the FOV in use.) The geometry parameters are specified in the Format file. Values are System III and planetocentric. The associated data file is described in its' label. The GGGS program calculates the boresight values from SPICE kernels covering the observation period. No log of the kernels used has been kept. Generally, kernels were final pointing kernels. Ocassionally, SPICE source comments are included in the header. A sample of the geometry table for the orbit C20 Callisto observation of Bran crater is given below.
