Welcome to the home page for PRIME - the Physics of Regolith Impacts in Microgravity Experiment. PRIME will study the effects of low energy impacts in microgravity environments on NASA's KC-135A reduced gravity airplane facility. The results of PRIME will have applications for understanding planetary accretion, planetary ring dynamics, and the evolution of regoliths on a variety of planetary surfaces, including the Moon, asteroids, and small planetary satellites.
