December 20, 2001:

We have completed most design work and passed an internal Critical Design Review last month.
Work continues on the first flight prototype IBS component.
Acceleration data for the PRIMER flights has been posted on the PRIMER page.

June 27, 2001:

PRIMER assembly is advancing at a rapid pace with one door assembly complete.
New vacuum tests on the prototype vacuum box are resulting in much improved performance which satisfy the science requirements for vacuum.

June 7, 2001:

The PRIME PDR was held today at LASP.  This was a positive review with some useful suggestions for improvements made to the PRIME team by the LASP engineering review board.

May 21, 2001:

The New PRIME web site is created.  We're still in search of a logo.
Work is well under way on "PRIMER": a test apparatus for the KC-135 which will test the behavior of PRIME target materials on the KC-135 and will test some of the PRIME components, such as the target tray door and actuator and the vacuum container.  Design drawings will be available this week.
PRIMER is planned for flight the week of July 23, 2001, out of NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland.
