The goal of the Solar MURI project is to understand the origins of magnetic eruptions on the Sun and their interplanetary consequences, and to develop the ability to model and predict these eruptions. To achieve this goal, a multi-disciplinary effort is necessary, involving the development of new instrumentation, the analysis of solar and interplanetary data, the construction of numerical models, and basic theoretical research on eruption mechanisms. I will provide a general overview of our approach, and our achievements thus far.
