| This time-latitude plot of nitric oxide density shows the variations in density at 106 km for a one year period, March 20, 1998 - March 20, 1999. There is always more nitric oxide in the auroral zone, 65oS and 65oN. During geomagnetic storms, the nitric oxide density increases and moves equatorward. Latitude-altitude plots show the behavior of nitric oxide during two magnetic storms, May 3 - 5 1998 , and November 14 - 16, 1998 . |
