Dr. Jerry Harder |
Dr. Jerald Harder is a Research Scientist at the University
of Colorado (CU), Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP). He
obtained his BA degree at CU in 1977 (Chemistry) and his PhD at the University
of Wyoming in 1987 (Physics) under the direction of David Hofmann and James
Rosen. After graduate school he worked at the NOAA Aeronomy Laboratory studying
atmospheric spectroscopy until 1997 when he joined LASP to work on the SORCE
mission. As part of Gary Rottman’s retirement, the responsibility of the SORCE LASP Program Scientist was transitioned to Jerry. He is also the lead instrument scientist for the Spectral Irradiance Monitor (SIM) for SORCE, and works on the analysis and interpretation of the
data returned from SIM after SORCE launches. He is also currently working
on the design and calibration plan for the next generation of SIM instruments
that will launched in the next decade. |
