DE/EICS data in two formats and software to access them are available on-line
Summary Data Format (SDF)
SDF files provide fixed 96 second average H+, O+, and if available, He+ fluxes at 15 energies (~0.01 to ~20 keV/e) and 14 pitch angles.
SDF files are in NASA's
Common Data Format (CDF)
with the
Dictionary Keywords (as they were defined in September 1995)
adopted by the ISTP project to facilitate development of automated plotting software. The CDF
Skeleton Table
Describing the SDF is available on-line.
Data in SDF format has been validated and used in several
large scale surveys of the mass, energy and angle composition of the auroral plasma.
SDF files are available for intervals when EICS was in a standard operating modes above 8,000 km.
SDF files and software to access them are now available on request through the
LASP (Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics) server
.
SDF files and associated software have been transferred to NSSDC for long term archiving. These files are now available through the
NASA Space Physics Data Facility
.

Stand Alone Telemetry Format (SATF)
SATF files and associated software provide access to EICS data at its full energy, mass, and angle resolution.
Approximately half of the data intervals acquired between 1981 and 1991 have been converted to files the SATF.
SATF files and software to access them are available on line through NASA Computers
.
The
VOLDESC.SFD
and
FORMAT.SFD
and files listed below describing the SATF are now available on line.

SATF files and associated software
have been available on line since 1993.
