IMPORTANT NOTE:
Files created Before September 1998 are mostly in CDF 2.5 format.
Files created after September 1998 are mostly in CDF 2.6 format.
If you have trouble reading TIMAS high resolution files, please check
that you are using CDF 2.6
software. Note also that IDL 4 only reads CDF
2.5 format and IDL 5 can read both CDF formats.
The algorithm used to calculate Flux and uncertainty estimates was improved for _v02 data files
Flux units are #/(cm^2-s-keV/e-sr) --- Uncertainties are expressed as a percentage of the flux value. Data are given for 28 energy and 12 pitch angle ranges and 12 second intervals. Note that data with both high and medium resolution are combined in these files. This means that the energy, angle, and time resolution of some data are less than the resolution provided in the data file. High resolution data is available, but to get it you have to use the data quality and resolution flags describe below. An overview of resolution options for the PAPCO display software is available. The flags and indicators described below provide more detailed information.

V03 data files exist for 8/20/1996 and 8/21/1996 They are in _v02 format They exist because of an unanticipated feature in the data for this interval that required reprocessing. Its easier to rename these two files to _v03, than to completely regenerate the data set. wkp 4/6/2001.
