ASTR/ATOC 3720 Planetary Atmospheres

This is the second course of the planetary science sequence for students getting a major or minor degree in Astrophysics or Astronomy. It also qualifies as an elective for ASEN majors (but note that ASEN no longer allows pass/fail grades to qualify).

REQUIREMENTS:

This course has pre-requisites of 1 year of algebra-based physics and 1 year of calculus. The course is aimed at Astronomy/Astrophysics majors and minors. Others are welcome - but we will use basic physics (e.g. Newton's laws of motion, gravitation, light/radiation, heat conduction, etc) as well as solving simple differential equations.

Homeworks 30% - out on Tuesday - due following week.

Mid-Term Exam I 15%
