From: Frank Eparvier Date: Mon Feb 24, 2003 10:06:22 AM America/Denver To: Frank Eparvier Subject: HW#3 hints and office hours this week ASTR/ATOC 3720 Class: First some hints about the homeworks: 1. Remember that optical depths are additive, and remember what the equation for calculating optical depths depends on. 1.c. Think about what happens to Te when you change the albedo. 2.a. There is no new math here. Everything you need to know you learned in the second week of class. 2.b. and 2.c. Assume that the motions are on a small enough scale that the coriolis force is not an issue. Next, my office hours for the week: I will be available from 4pm to 5:30pm today (Monday 2/24) in room D230 (note this is a different room than usual). I will also be available Tuesday from 11 am to noon in D121 (Bob Ergun's office) and Thursday from 8am-9:30am in D121.
