Course Description

ASTR 3750 is a junior level course for undergraduates with math and physics or engineering prerequisites. It is a companion course to ASTR 3720, "Planetary Atmospheres."

In this class we study the hard (i.e., rocky) parts of the solar system. Lectures will include some slides and the discoveries from the latest space missions. Students are encouraged to participate by asking questions and taking part in class discussions. Please bring topics of interest to my attention for inclusion in the syllabus.

Students will do calculations, write a computer project or term paper, and take 3 closed-book exams (2 quizzes and a final). Homework problems will be assigned. The project or term paper is due on 10 October.
