Comet Hale Bopp over the Flatirons in Boulder
(Niescja Turner and Carter Emmart, 1997)
Seventh Workshop on the Physics
of Dusty Plasmas
University of Colorado
Boulder, CO 80309,
USA
April 6-9,
1998
Dusty plasmas are perhaps the fastest growing area
in plasma physics with a surprisingly wide range of applications. They
represent the most general form of space, laboratory and industrial plasmas.
The workshop invited participants from all interested
fields to assess the most recent theoretical, observational and experimental
advances.
We had presentations on a variety of dusty
plasma topics, including:
1) Dusty Plasma Theory and Laboratory Experiments
- charging
- charged dust dynamics
- waves and instabilities
- strong coupling
2) Atmospheric, Space and Astrophysical Applications
3) Industrial and Environmental Applications
