Outline:
Our knowledge in lunar and planetary sciences and space physics is advanced by remote sensing and in situ measurements. This course is about the state-of-the-art measurements techniques, flight instruments, their current capabilities,  and outlook for the future. The cornerstone of this class is the so-called "traceability matrix", identifying science issues, measurement, instrument and mission requirements, and capabilities. Invited speakers will discuss current, past and future space missions.

Students will be assigned one of the Cassini instruments to prepare a formal presentation about its science goals,  technical details, measurement capabilities, and recent scientific findings. Students will get verbal/written feedback about their presentation from the instructors, as well as other students in the class.
