I'm a faculty member in the Department of Astrophysical & Planetary Sciences (APS) and a researcher in Laboratory for Atmospheric & Space Physics (LASP) . Look at my vita if you don't have anything better to do!!!

Our JMEX mission concept was selected for study by NASA! JMEX is an Earth-orbiting UV telescope optimized for studying the Jupiter-Io system. We'll know this summer if we're selected for flight.

Check out our latest discovery of chlorine escaping from Jupiter's moon Io.

In Fall 2003 I'm teaching ASTR1010: Introductory Astronomy/Solar System. I'm a convert to teaching large classes with classroom interaction technology - see these two writeups (1 2).

I have some suggestions for undergraduates seeking research opportunities. I'm also an advisor for the APS minor and major (which is nearing approval).

Find out about graduate education in planetary science at CU.

News Flash! Our new introductory astronomy textbook The Cosmic Perspective has been published by Addison Wesley! Instructors can obtain their own free examination copy (by following the links), and anyone can buy a copy.
