CCLDAS hosts second annual International Observe the Moon Night

October 9, 2011

In celebration of the second annual International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) on October 8, 2011, CCLDAS student Adrienne Dove organized an event at the Courthouse lawn in downtown Boulder, CO. InOMN is a public outreach event created to increase public interest in and awareness of the Moon by giving them a chance to look through telescopes and learn about current lunar research.

Many representative for CCLDAS braved the rain and cold for the event, and while the large telescopes used last year could not be set up due to the weather, a small portable telescope was used for a short time. The CCLDAS table of handouts and activities included helping kids (of all ages!) build small telescopes that they could take home.

We are hoping for clear skies next year!
