Commands received!

Everyone in the control room after late nights.

We got our first few commands through to the spacecraft! We were able to stream real time ADCS telemetry and set spacecraft time. There’s a LOT of ADCS telemetry, so our regular beacons only contain a small subset. We were in eclipse when we got this command through. We want to get more while in sunlight to compare the ADCS telemetry points. The spacecraft time was set because of the expected clock drift between the time of delivery and deployment. Now that we’ve set it once on orbit, we’ll just track the drift over the life of the mission and compensate for it in released data products.

This is a massive step forward! We still have tuning of the ground station to do and plan to get help from friends at other ground stations. So far, each day has been better than the last!
