Dr. Harvey received her doctorate in atmospheric and oceanic sciences from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 2001. Her dissertation focused on the numerical identification of stratospheric vortices and their influence on the transport of trace gases. Her scientific expertise is rooted in the neutral atmosphere. She has an extensive peer-reviewed publication record in stratosphere, mesosphere, and lower-thermosphere dynamics and atmosphere-ionosphere interactions. She has published 102 peer-reviewed manuscripts on topics covering atmospheric vortex systems, planetary waves, gravity waves, atmospheric tides, the transport of trace gases, stratospheric and mesospheric ozone, measurement validation, whole-atmosphere model evaluation, atmospheric effects of energetic particle precipitation, and atmosphere-ionosphere coupling. Her h-index value is 34 on Google Scholar and 29 on Web of Science. She has been an author or co-author on hundreds of oral and poster presentations.
