Solar Panel Dual Deployment

Solar Panel Dual Deployment

Yesterday we began functional tests of the entire CubeSat. This included booting up into phoenix mode, waiting for the automatic transition to safe mode, and commanding the solar panels to deploy. It took about 10 seconds of the resistor burning for the monofilament line holding the spring-loaded solar panels down to deploy. See the video below! It was recorded at 120 fps so if you use Quicktime 10.3 you’ll be able to watch it deploy in slow motion.
