Charlie is the Program Manager for the DUSTER payload that will deploy to the lunar south pole as part of the Artemis program. He is also the instrument systems engineer for the Emirates eXploration Imager (EXI) camera on-board the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) spacecraft. He has supported numerous projects as a mechanical and systems engineer during his career that spans time at LASP and previously at JPL. Some of those projects include Libera (JPSS), Mars2020 (Perseverance Rover), MSL (Curiosity Rover), Aquarius, UAVSAR, the Prime Focus Spectrograph, and GLISTIN-A. Charlie has experience in instrument architecture & design, opto-mechanics, mechanisms, airborne instrumentation, structural analysis, fatigue analysis, electronics packaging, integration & test, and mechanical assembly.
