Biography

Chip Bollendonk joined LASP as a Mechanical Engineer in 2021, and has worked on instruments including the Interstellar Dust Experiment (IDEX), Libera, BABAR-ERI, Vacuum Ultraviolet Fourier Transform Spectrometer (VUV-FTS), and MiniMag. His contributions include mechanical structures and mechanism design, finite element analysis, assembly integration and test (AI&T), and team leadership. Chip received his MS and BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from CU Boulder, along with a Minor in Leadership Studies. Prior to his time at LASP, Chip contributed towards various missions including ULA's Vulcan, Blue Origin's New Glenn, and Sierra Space's Dream Chaser.
