Biography

As LASP’s lead scientist, Peter manages the institute’s portfolio of research projects and programs and 175 scientists. Prior to joining LASP and CU Boulder’s Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science, Peter worked at NASA’s Ames Research Center. His research focuses on the study of Earth’s radiation budget using observations from space; climate trend monitoring; and remote sensing of clouds and aerosols. He is the principal investigator for two NASA missions, Libera and CLARREO Pathfinder. Peter is a fellow of the American Meteorological Society and has received numerous honors, including the Humboldt Research Award and the NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal.
