Mechanical engineer with more than twenty five years of professional experience at LASP, designing and delivering flight hardware for NASA science missions. He's been Mechanical Lead on seven instruments and programs of note, presently Libera and DAPHNE. His contributions and areas of focus include precision mechanisms, optomechanical design, structural analysis, and subcontractor oversight. His innovations include long-life bearing and lubrication systems, deployable restraint systems for solar arrays, and detector designs, and his work helped show that first-rate science can be done on CubeSats. A dedicated mentor, he has guided numerous early-career engineers and students into professional roles.
