Registration
Although registration is not available yet (coming in early December), we have some information which might be helpful now. All registrations are due no later than Feb. 16, 2018. We realize this early registration date is unusual for our attendees, but the Lake Arrowhead Conference Center is owned and managed by UCLA and they have special deadlines. We will do our best to accommodate everyone.
The professional registration fee will be $1100 (by Feb. 16). The registration fee will include *all* costs for the 4-day meeting: upscale lodging in semi-private accommodations (more info under LODGING), gourmet meals (breakfast and lunch buffets, 4-course dinners, all daily refreshments, and receptions), all meeting services (meeting space, A/V, internet, etc.), and all onsite recreational facilities. Your registration fee also includes a tour of Big Bear Solar Observatory (with transportation to/from Lake Arrowhead). The 4-day meeting registration fee after Feb. 16 will be $1350. On the registration form you will be asked to provide information about dietary requirements, condo roommate preference (more info under LODGING), and Big Bear Solar Observatory participation. Please note, that alcohol (beer and wine only) will be available at the 2018 Sun-Climate Symposium. These beverages are optional and are not included in the meal per diem portion of the registration.
Online Registration: The University of Colorado’s Conference Services Department is handling our meeting registration and credit card processing via their secure online system. You will be provided with an immediate confirmation. Onsite you will be provided with a detailed receipt that breaks down the costs for your expense reporting (lodging, meals, meeting facilities). If you need to pay your registration fee with 2 different credit cards (govt. employees), that option is offered online as well. Registration with a Check: You are welcome to pay by check. Please complete the attached registration form and mail in your payment (made out to the University of Colorado) to: Vanessa George, LASP/Univ. of Colorado, 3665 Discovery Drive, Boulder, CO, 80303.
Guests (non-meeting attendee) are welcome to join you at the Lake Arrowhead Conference Center for a special guest registration fee of $700. This fee includes shared lodging, all meals, and full use of the facilities. A separate registration is required for a guest and you are welcome to use a different credit card than the meeting attendee. If you have a 2nd guest sharing your condolet, please contact Vanessa George for registration information (and discounted price info).
Cancellation and Refund Deadline: Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this deadline is due to the commitments we make to businesses providing us with their services. There will be a $40 processing fee for any refund. We will do our best to accommodate special situations.
NASA Travel Info: NCTS conference code 29003-18 has been assigned to the 2018 Sun-Climate Symposium. Please submit your travel request as soon as possible (past due now) and we will work with NASA to obtain approvals by the Feb. 16 registration deadline. We are confident that all names entered into the NCTS system will be accepted. We will monitor the NASA approval process and adjust our Feb. 9 deadline if necessary.
