Installing the current version of the TIMAS module for PAPCO in your
PAPCO V. 7 or 8 directory structure.

(For those on the Palo Alto TIMAS group computer network, the location of 
PAPCO V. 8 is in directory:  /timas/code/papco/papco_08 .)

The current version of the TIMAS module for PAPCO is available on the
anonymous ftp site: 

ftp://willow.colorado.edu/pub/timas/PAPCO/V11/

The  V11  directory includes the following files:

polar_timas11.tar            TIMAS module for PAPCO 
timas_papco_install.txt      This document (text files display in the
                             in the browser, hold down shift key when
                             clicking to ftp a text file)

Copy  polar_timas11.tar  to your  papco_xx/papco_modules  directory
and untar the file (tar xvf polar_timas11.tar).  Unless you have customized
your module, there will be no loss of local information in updating a
previous version of the TIMAS module by overwriting with tar because all
local information is in your  papco_user_xx  directory.


Start idl (V. 4 or 5) in a terminal window.

Type 

  @papco_setup

Select the "polar timas" radio button.

Select "New Config & Go on".

Type

  papco

Select "POLAR-TIM".

Select "Config".

In the "Environment Variable:" text entry box, enter your TIMAS data
directory or select "Browse" to find the data location.  Then select
"Set" and "Save".

Select "Cancel", "Done", and "Yes".

This completes the TIMAS module installation.

You may now exit IDL.

Bugs:  File  timas_spec_panel.help  in directory  papco_interface
       (TIMAS module) has information on fixes or workarounds for PAPCO
       bugs.  You may wish to make the suggested changes as part of your
       TIMAS module installation.  File  timas_spec_panel.help  also has
       information on bugs and limitations in the TIMAS module.
