Option Groups
- Mass
Select one of the four most comman energetic ion mass species found
in the magnetospehre
H+, O+, He+, and He++
- Pitch angle Range
Select data to be averaged over all pitch angles or over
one of three restricted pitch anglular ranges
NOTE 1You have the choice to select data weighted by the relative solid angle in each pitch angle bin, or unweighted by solid angle. Pitch angle data is missing from some data intervals. For these intervals data is displayed only for the unweithted (Omni) option.
NOTE 2No correction for ExB drift has been applied in the
calculation of pitch angles. In regions of high convection velocities
field alingned, low energy, heavy ions will be assigned an incorrect
pitch angle. Contact a member of the TIMAS science team for further information on this subject.

Reload data is a standard PAPCO option
Examine data sends an interpt to IDL
You can examine variables using standard IDL commands such
as
HELP, data.tim,/structure
- Z-scaling
We recomend using MANUAL and LOGARITHMIC Scaling with
lower limit of 1e3 and
upper limit of 3e7.
