The XB1 Engineering Development Unit (EDU) was delivered to the CIRBE team from Blue Canyon Technologies on June 18th. The EDU is a physical spacecraft model that will interface with the REPTile-2 science payload; this will allow the CIRBE team to begin verifying our final flight structure, electronics design, and software development. Furthermore, by connecting a Realtime Dynamics Processor (RDP), the CIRBE EDU can be placed into a simulated orbit to allow the operation team to practice flying CIRBE. Overall the delivery of the EDU represents a milestone for CIRBE and will allow us to move forward in the satellite testing and verification process.
