Biography
Connecting the dots from Idea to Implementation, Meredith Danowski has participated in the full lifecycle of space science missions, and she specializes in working with scientists and engineers to turn broad science questions and pencil-sketch payloads into funded missions.
Meredith is a business development and proposal capture manager, responsible for project and proposal management, instrument development, and mission formulation, primarily in support of NASA science missions. She has led or supported a wide range of proposal teams covering earth, planetary, heliophysics, and astrophysics science concepts.
Prior to LASP, Meredith started her space hardware journey as a sounding rocketeer, and she has designed, built, or launched over 10 science suborbital sounding rocket missions. She has a wide variety of experience across wavelengths, project phases, roles and science areas. From Xray to IR, the Sun to faraway galaxies, Meredith has worn many hats-- Systems Engineer, a research scientist, program manager, and BD portfolio manager.
Meredith received her PhD in astronomy from Boston University with a focus on UV instrumentation and extragalactic observations of dust extinction. Meredith is also passionate about STEM education and access, with decades of experience in informal science education, advocacy for STEM diversity and equity, and STEM career mentorship.
