IT Procurement Expeditor

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) is a dynamic, world-renowned research facility that is a notable contributor to many NASA programs. LASP is in need of a procurement professional located at the University of Colorado Boulder East Research Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to procurement, maintenance and tracking of IT related commodities and services in support of LASP research programs.

Associated tasks include, but are not limited to:

•Work with scientists and engineers to determine the items required in support of the scientific research program.
•Solicitation of quotes, sourcing and vendor management activities on behalf of the scientist and engineers
•Initiate University Purchase Orders and A-card (credit card) Orders with associated follow-up
•Track procurement status and provide regular updates to scientists and engineers
•Assist with inventory moves, transfers, disposals and adjustments. Maintain and track IT inventory utilizing current tools including software licensing and hardware inventory
•Maintain asset information using various tracking programs as well as maintain associated spreadsheets and databases
•Provide support to other IT staff and management
•Learning and adhering to Federal, State, and University regulations
•Build and maintain LANDesk database information
•Coordinate closely with procurement on purchasing and licensing
•Communicate status on purchases as requested
•Follow-up with vendors to ensure timely delivery

The position will interface with people from many different areas, each with varying levels of experience and expertise. The individual will research and verify that items requested by engineers and scientists are in compliance with LASP and University requirements. The position may also assist in other related areas as different priorities arise.

Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•Strong attention to detail
•Ability to learn quickly and take on new tasks
•Exceptional communication skills via phone and email
•Proven computer and internet skills (particularly with Microsoft Office and any purchase/MRP software)
•Good organization skills
•Resourcefulness to multi-task current projects and flexibility in assignments
•Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with demonstrated knowledge of basic purchasing
•Excellent time management, organizational and team skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet time deadlines
•Ability to occasionally lift 30 lbs

Desired Qualifications:

•Knowledge of computer hardware, software and IT systems helpful
•Familiarity with LANDesk Analytics a plus
