The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at CU is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Web Team, developing back-end solutions for data retrieval and analysis problems that use scientific research data. LASP is a world‐renowned space science research institute, combining all aspects of space exploration through expertise in science, engineering, mission operations, and scientific data analysis and stewardship. As part of CU Boulder, LASP also works to train the next generation of scientists and engineers by integrating undergraduate and graduate students into working teams.
This candidate will be responsible for developing, operating and maintaining, back end solutions for access, management, and interactive analysis of large volumes of scientific data. We use a functional approach to data modeling and analysis, and we are looking for someone who has experience with and knowledge of functional programming and related concepts. Experience with cloud computing, parallelization, and/or very large data volumes is highly desirable.
Our team is an Agile DevOps team that creates, maintains, and operates web‐based solutions for various needs. We are a highly interactive Agile team, with each member engaged in all aspects of the Agile DevOps process, including stakeholder interaction, developing and supporting application and test code, and documenting solutions.
