The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) is a world-renowned space science research institute at the University of Colorado, Boulder on east campus. The in-house engineering group supports the design and manufacture of space-based and suborbital instruments and small spacecraft for LASP and partner institutions. LASP has developed scientific instrumentation for twelve deep-space missions, fifteen Earth-orbiting missions, 200 sub-orbital rocket flights and over 20 airborne experiments.
Hourly Position Open Immediately – 1 Sophmore or Junior Computer Science Engineer
LASP is hiring a computer science engineering student to assist the Instrumentation Engineering group with the upgrading and development of our web application that tracks our operations here at LASP. The Instrumentation Engineering group designs and develops instrument detectors and performs the testing to calibrate and characterize our flight instruments. The web application is crucial to our success in tracking and maintaining accurate information about our process.
Minimum GPA – 3.0
The position pays hourly. The time commitment is 40 hrs/wk over the summer and 10-20 hrs/wk during the school year.
