2023 Sun-Climate Symposium – Travel Information

Flagstaff Pullium Airport (FLG) also listed as “Grand Canyon Village” is the closest commercial airport to Flagstaff. It is a 5.6-mile drive from downtown. You can get in and out of Flagstaff from just about anywhere in the world by connecting through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport or Dallas Ft. Worth.

You could also opt to fly in to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) and drive to Flagstaff. Directions are below:

To get to Flagstaff, from the Phoenix airport, follow signs for Downtown/I-10 and merge onto I-10 West toward Los Angeles, then take exit 143A for I-17 North toward Flagstaff. (All Phoenix-to-Flagstaff routes pick up at I-17 North eventually.) In 149 miles, I-17 will end and turn into Milton Road/US Route 66/Santa Fe Ave., leading you into Downtown Flagstaff. You could also opt to fly in to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) and drive to Flagstaff (151 miles, about 2 hours).

The 4-day Symposium will be held at the High Country Conference Center located on the NAU Campus, our hotel room block will be next door to the conference center at Drury Inn & Suites, where we have 80 rooms in our room block at the per diem rate of $138/night. Room block information will be released along with the conference registration in the coming months. Should our room block not hold enough rooms, there is a Country Inn & Suites by Radisson directly across the street, and an Embassy Suites not far down the road.

Should you decide you do not want to rent a car, Taxi, Lyft and Uber services are available in Flagstaff.
